Marathi

Marathi lies between Lipsi and Arki in the northern Dodecanese. It's the ultimate island for everyone that likes to do definitely nothing. It's only exists three taverns, two pensions, two jetties, a cemetery, a very tiny church, a gang of goats and a beach. Here, no businesses exist, no cars, no villages, no roads and almost no people. If you want to amuse yourself you must bring your own spade and bucket.

The night life is like an empty plastic bag, you have to fill it yourself. The very few people who stay overnight spend the evenings at one of the two taverns, enjoying homemade wine and nibbles on homemade goat cheese, perhaps reading a book and philosophize about life and how many goats there is on Marathi. That's about it.

Getting there
You can go with daytrip boats from Lipsi and Patmos when the weather so permits. If you want to stay over night it's just to buy a one way ticket.

Beaches
Yes, that's just what Marathi is, a beach. Quite good also.

Villages
There are no villages on Marathi, the beach is the actual village, one tavern in each corner of the beach and one in the middle.

Sights
None, but the left tavern has a quite exceptional barbeque grill. Definitely worth look! : -)
