Γεια σου Jenny

When you arrive somewhere , you can say
" χαίρετε" (Ch'erete) almost all the time of the day. But especially it sounds very good when it is late enough to say kalimera, and early enough to say kalispera.
Generally "
ΧΑΙΡΕΤΕ" is very polite and it is very well accepted from all the people.
Inscription of the word "
ΧΑΙΡΕ" (currently at the museum of Patras
, 2nd century B.C)

Another option is "Γεια σας" (Gia sas).

When you leave a place, then you can say "
kalo mesimeri" (if it is noon) or "
kalo apogevma" if it is afternoon, or "
kalo vrady" if it is evening (not very late though cause then its better to say "kalinikta" )
