This is the shipwreck of the Turkish cargo ship "AFRICA" off the north coast of Milos, close to Sarakiniko. It sunk there in 2003. No one was hurt and the beaches were not contaminated. The wreck was throroughly cleaned up, and the authorities decided to leave it there as a tourist attraction as well as an item of interest to scuba divers, and perhaps as a place for fish to make their homes.
